Why yahoo punishes us with -5 points when we ask questions?

you bring up a good point. but i'm guessing its because you gain points by ANSWERING. so, if points were awarded for asking, some wouldn't answer. Now, i think they use -5 because you get +3 for picking a best answer and +2 for answering.
