Has anyone been able to maintain a friendship with someone they are infatuated with?

she knows knows how i feel bout her.. she just got a new boyfriend so there's no chance to get closer to her... and i don't want to know bout that, she doesn't talk bout that.. asked her and was told she still wish to remain friends but i'm the one that will always be looking for her and i'm afraid that i will always be stuck on her..
